Hi! I am a violist with over 14 years of playing experience. I have performed all around the world with a number of fantastic groups. I have a bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Oregon, a master's degree in Viola Performance from the University of Texas at Austin, and am currently in The Orchestra Now, an orchestra training program based at Bard College in New York. I have lots of experience with students of all ages and abilities. I have extensively taught privately, in group coachings, and have even conducted full student orchestras. I always work with students to ensure that they get the most out of their lessons. Lessons can be a lot of fun, but students will get the most out of them when they come prepared and ready to engage. Everyone has different goals for themselves, so I am more than willing to work on a specific plan of what the student would like to accomplish. I love the viola and hope that my students will come to truly love it as well (if they already don't). Music is the universal language, and the aim for any of my students is that they walk away from lessons feeling accomplished, fulfilled, and eager to learn more.

Sean is a wonderful, patient viola teacher. He helped my young daughter master fundamentals at a young age and helped her to have fun while doing so.
I am a mother with a teenage boy. My son have learned piano for 5 years, and he decided to pick the viola as the second instrument so he can join the school orchestra with his friends. We are looking for a viola teacher who have the passion in teaching music and can communicate with the teenage boy. Sean was referred by a friend. Learning viola with Sean is a joyful experience, very encouraging, and inspirational. He is strict while cheerful, is quite patient with students, and pay attention to the details. He motivates his student with his life experience. After tried several classes, my son loves him. He decided to go with Sean for viola.
Sean is a fantastic teacher! I feel that he tailors his lesson plans just for my needs. He has helped me to achieve a lot and I will be forever grateful that we chose to work with him and not another teacher. Sean is personable, but professional. He always has insightful things to say, and will always deliver these insights constructively.
