I am a high school English teacher, but I have been teaching for 16 years! Yikes, that's a long time. I started teaching in elementary school, where I taught math, English, reading, social studies, and science. After 9 years I moved up to teach 7th grade ELA; I loved getting to teach books like The Giver. I spent 7 years there and then decided I wanted to a new challenge...high school (I must have been crazy, right?) I absolutely love teaching English 1 to my freshmen.
