Hello there! My name is Sophia. I am a high school Valedictorian, a published author, a recent graduate from Modesto Junior College with two Associate's degrees in Communications and Business Administration, as well as a TaeKwonDo martial artist and musician. In the fourteen years of my schooling, mathematics has always been my favorite subject, and the one that I've been the most passionate and excited to learn. So much so, that aside from my other endeavors, I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting in order to continue to develop that interest in math. I am as well the oldest of seven homeschooled kids in my family. That being said, I have been the tutor of my six younger siblings in all topics of math, including addition/subtraction/multiplication/division; fractions; decimals; percentage; simplification; ratios; and more. For approximately the last seven years of my experience in teaching, I have also had the chance to tutor students at schools and friends alike, and so I understand how difficult it may be for children of all ages to grasp even some of the most basic concepts in mathematics. I try to make lessons fun and engaging for my students, personalizing them according to my students' pace and level of understanding of the topic at hand. I am also a very patient individual. During my sessions, I will try to find different ways of explaining topics to my students, and will go out of my way to be creative in order to help my students grasp various math concepts. My only goal and desire is to strengthen and encourage my students in whatever difficulties they may have, and help them excel in this diverse subject of mathematics. I firmly believe that math can become an easy and fun subject to learn. Math is just language. If you understand the language, math can be a breeze. If you feel that I'm the right fit to help you achieve that goal, don't hesitate to message me! I'm excited to work with you!
