Stephanie Kuborssy was born and raised in Mountain View, California. Stephanie graduated from Southern Oregon University in June of 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Music Instruction and a Minor in Environmental Studies and Policy. While maintaining a 3.83/4.00 GPA, Stephanie participated in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars during her last three years at SOU, her last year holding the title of Vice President of Events. Since her time in Oregon, she played in the pit orchestra for the production of Little Shop of Horrors as well as the pit orchestra for 50 shows for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival's production of Into The Woods. She was hired as the clarinet coach for Ashland Middle School's Chamber Music Camp over the summer as well as the visual and woodwind tech at Grants Pass High School. Stephanie was a member of the Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon, Cascade Clarinet Consort, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band and Chamber Choir during her undergraduate career. She also taught two students privately throughout her undergrad. Stephanie auditioned for and received the Southern Oregon University Solo Concerto Competition in 2016. She has just finished her Masters in Music Education degree at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California with a 3.95/4.0 GPA. She has attended numerous music education conferences including CASMEC, Bay Section and Midwest International Band and Orchestra Conference. She presented research a research study at CASMEC in 2017. She has recently relocated to Tacoma WA. Stephanie has taught general music K-5, 5th grade band, and is currently employed as a middle school band and orchestra director. She loves to spend time outdoors and has a sweet kitten named Addie too!
