Hi there everyone! I'm Ms Tammy and I teach piano, ukulele, guitar and mandarin on Takelessons. With the current COVID-19 virus crisis, I am primarily teaching online. If you are located in Manhattan, NYC, I am teaching in-person classes on a case-by-case basis. For students located elsewhere, I will be making periodic visits in an effort to ensure the best musical developments possible. I currently teach students based in SF, LA, Seattle, North Carolina, Panama and more! Teaching Philosophy: I believe EVERYONE should have the opportunity to learn music and language, especially children, in a fun and enjoyable way! As someone who grew up around music (my mother is a music teacher!) I wish to give that chance to others. A bit more about myself: Born and raised in Singapore, I started playing the piano at around the age of four. I graduated summa cum laude from Berklee College of Music in August 2013 with a Bachelor's of Music in Piano Performance and Contemporary Writing and Production. Today, I am a full-time music educator and an actively performing singer-songwriter. I sing and play the piano, ukulele and guitar. I'm a Steinway Educator Partner, and am also a proud member of the LGBTQ community 🏳️🌈 I teach primarily children, but I also have a few adult students. As everyone is different, I personally take the time and effort to develop and customize my lessons and materials for each student. Music is an all-rounded experience. Not only can I offer you a chance to learn how to play different styles of piano, from your favorite jazz and pop tunes, to the well known classical pieces, but I can also teach you how to write your own songs, arrange them, and even record them! *I conduct group lessons for young children in mandarin/music and mandarin, which I am unable to state on my profile/list of services here. Pricing will vary depending on the class size, length of class, frequency, etc
