Levels taught:
Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced"End every day stronger and smarter than it started, inspire others to do the same." Hello! My name is Tyler and I'm a multi-disciplinary musician and athlete. As a teacher I believe the best education comes from well-rounded and varied sources, weaving together to form insights you won't easily learned from more narrow textbooks. I also believe in making learning as fun as possible, as I've heard too many stories of teachers turning other students off to music by being too harsh and strict. Beyond that the same principles that apply to any endeavor in life - consistent daily discipline and the compound interest that grows from that - are what fuel any success I've had in life and it's what I try to instill in everyone I meet. For music I teach piano and keyboard (there are differences), guitar, bass, and voice. My influences range from more formal classical and jazz study, to more informal rock, electronic, and even videogame music. Along with decades of self-study I've taken lessons from some of the best musicians in the world and have studied what makes them great beyond simple technique. If you want to learn it, odds are I can teach it, or at least put you on the path towards learning it. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions!
