“I have a passion for music and my greatest goal in life is to share that passion one way or another.” Zach P. started his musical journey before he could speak with his father starting his ear-training as a toddler. He’s taught all levels of guitar, piano and voice for several years. He graduated with a Bachelors in Music and Mathematics from Cal State: Long Beach and the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music. He’s performed in various groups for nearly two decades, headlining in venues across the US such as The House of Blues, Hard Rock Hotel and others. He’s written and recorded songs that have received hundreds of thousands of streams, were used in major network commercials and placed on national top 100 radio charts. He's worked with artists like MAX, Gnash, Jim Keltner (The Traveling Wilburys, Bob Dylan) and Fred Tacket (Little Feat). *** Lesson Details *** Every student is unique, so I create a unique lesson plan to fit the interests and ability of each my students. My main focus while teaching is creating a safe and fun environment for my students. While learning a musical instrument or skill requires a fair amount of technical knowledge and discipline, it should also be fun and engaging. You won’t practice if you don’t like what you’re doing! I like to give students tools that allow them to be creative and play around. This gives them an opportunity to naturally develop their own unique musical voice which technical study and practice will only enrich and expand. *** Travel Equipment *** I bring my own instrument and amplification if needed as well as teaching materials like books, staff or tab paper, and pencils. I expect students to provide their own instruments. *** Specialties *** I specialize in rock and pop music, in the broadest possible definitions of the genres.

There are no words to describe how brilliant Zach is. Having no real experience myself in music, it is crazy how much he has transformed my voice. On top of that, I am now learning guitar with him and I have been moving quickly. I highly recommend if you are looking for someone that is judgement-free and ready to take you on a journey with the craft. I struck gold with this guy.
Zach is a creative and dedicated teacher. He is young and inspiring in the way he teaches and I have only taken about 12 lessons with him and can say my piano and guitar skills have immensely improved. I had never even played piano before I met Zach! If you need help with your rhythm, and using a metronome, chord building, soloing, and all things music theory (and so much more!!), look no further. The point is, he is a super talented teacher and is continually challenging me, and I look forward to continuing to learn from him in the future. If you are someone who has been stuck in a rut for some time, or perhaps even an adult beginner (as I am on the piano) Zach will help you break through these blocks quicker and excel forward with your music.
Every minute of my lesson is a great time! Very fun teacher and can't wait for every week for the next lesson. Definitely will continue learning from him for the foreseeable future.
