I am a classical guitarist originally but I also play acoustic, electric, fingerstyle, blues, bluegrass, country, and rock, and I am a master of music theory. I have been teaching for over 20 years and playing and performing for 25 years. My specialty is fingerstyle and I can teach from beginner to the highest advanced levels. I teach at a major University and have been an assistant professor of guitar at several colleges. I currently play and perform in a band that plays all kinds of music from Folk to Funk, from Country to Blues, from Bluegrass to Ballads. I am a music theory specialist. I can teach it in general but I specialize in teaching theory for guitarists. Teaching music is one of my main passions in life!

He shapes my lessons around practical use in performance, always encouraging and ever-challenging, but with plenty of patience and just plain fun. Trust me, you will not find a better teacher!

Within the first few lessons, you will be able to learn how to form and learn chord names and as time goes on you will be able to play full songs. Neguine teaches piano to my two children, ages 8 and 6, and she’s been wonderful. She comes to our house and immediately the house is a calm friendly place to learn music. She’s patient with my kids who love piano but are still little, and she has a good sense of humor when they want to try something a little quirky. They also have been making great strides with sightreading, and their eagerness to learn more has only increased. Neguine also does not rush the kids: If a child needs to repeat part of a lesson for another week as she is good about making sure kids reinforce what they’re learning, which is something I appreciate, and my kids have learned to appreciate that too. I highly recommend her!

"A great teacher who listens to the kids and seems to know that letting them play songs that they want to play will make them want to practice! He is teaching theory, technique and fun at the same time. Kelton was bored with so much theory and playing 'baby' songs that he didn't know. Cristopher's did his first recital with the song that my son wants to learn, too! I've already recommended him to neighbors and friends."

"Dennis was my instructor and is a bit modest about his experience. He taught me on my mom's crappy nylon stringed spanish acoustic guitar back in the 80s. I hope he reads this and remembers the little studios at Fox's Music in Falls Church. He patiently taught me Rick Springfield songs, probably against his taste and better judgment. Anyway, he got me started in my teens and I'm still playing some of the tunes he taught me (plus a few hundred others) on a slightly nicer guitar these days, in my 40s. Keep rockin', Dennis, and thanks for helping spark a hobby I still enjoy decades later!"
