I've been a successful commercial photographer, author, educator and film producer since 1980. I understand that students learn in different ways and I strive to accommodate these differences.

I've owned and operated large commercial studios in Burbank, CA, where I did business with entertainment industry leaders: Warner Bros, Universal, Paramount and Disney. Disney especially punched my dance card for over 20 years. We love the mouse at our house. Currently I work exclusively as a location photographer and film producer.

Throughout I’ve taught at various private and public educational institutions, wrote my first book in 2009 and am currently writing my second. I’ve mentored many young photographers over the years and am thrilled for their successes.

Thanks for reading.

Ever since I discovered Dragon Ball Z on Toonami back in the early 2000's, I have come to develop a love of all things Japan, specifically anime and J-pop. My experience with learning Japanese started back when I started studying at home with my older brother back in 1999 or so, and then started studying Japanese at college, which culminated in the completion of a minor in Japanese as part of my BA. I have also visited Japan one time to visit my older brother who was teaching English over there at the time. I love Dragon Ball (among many, many other anime) and T.M. Revolution.

I plan my lessons and create my own materials to fit each student's specific needs and goals. While learning an instrument is a worthy endeavor on its own, I also work with my students to hone important life and study skills that they can also apply to other aspects of their lives and education - not to mention having fun making music! Confidence, problem solving, and setting and working towards goals are just some of the skills I work to impart on my students.

About Katie

Hi I'm Katie! I'm a trombonist, music educator, and private teacher currently based in New Hampshire! I recently graduated summa cum laude from the Hartt School at the University of Hartford with my Master's of Music Degree in Trombone Performance. Before Hartt, I attended East Tennessee State Unive

Preparing for an audition is like running a company, and you are the CEO overseeing each department. I'm the consultant whose purpose is to help you succeed.

I will coach you on how to best engineer your "product," how to refine and solidify your "sales pitch" so that it's consistently attractive, and how to make sure your "HR department" is happy, by cultivating self-belief and a trusting mindset.

While I am by profession a classically-trained musician on the French horn, the techniques I've learned studying with some of the best audition coaches in the world can be applied to any field in which there are high-pressure performance scenarios.

Please message me with any questions, and let's get started!

About Shawn

Hi, I'm Shawn! I grew up in Tennessee, and am currently in Houston, TX studying French Horn Performance at Rice University. Thanks to modern technology, I'm available for online lessons wherever you live. I've been studying horn for over a decade, and have performed with internationally renowned

Shawn helped me prepare for college auditions and helped me get into my dream school. He knows exactly what the level is at the top music schools in the country and is able to help his students get there. I would recommend Shawn to anyone, no matter their experience or aspirations in music.
Adam
My son has been learning with Shawn for a bit now. I can say that I absolutely recommend him as a French Horn teacher, as my son is now very engaged and interested in practicing and learning his instrument. Shawn has a great character, and most importantly cares greatly for his student's progress.
Charlotte
I had a few online lessons with Shawn to help prepare me for a college ensemble audition. He helped a lot with not just the music I was preparing, but also my practice structure overall. Got some great advice on audition prep mindset, how to practice, fundamentals, and of course the music I had to prepare. I ended up getting into the ensemble of my choice, so I'm very happy with the experience!

I cater my lessons to anything my students want to focus on, as well as providing them a strong foundation of music theory. I am a classically trained singer and was a part of choruses from elementary school through high school. In high school I was selected for the Central District chorus four years in a row and for the All State Chorus one year. In addition to classical, I sing pop music and musical theater very frequently, as well as jazz and other genres of music. In musical theater I have been in a variety of roles, including ensemble parts, supporting roles, and lead roles. I also am trained in belting and mixed belt singing and healthy singing is very important to me as a teacher.

About Nicole

Hi, I'm Nicole! I am in my senior year as a voice student at Berklee College of Music, majoring in Songwriting and minoring in Musical Theater Performance and Musical Theater Writing. My two favorite genres to write and perform are pop and musical theater. I have experience (both in person and virtu

Great instructor! My daughter has learned so much and is excited to have her lesson every week. Nicole is patient and knowledgeable. And the cost is more than reasonable. This is a great way for a child to learn an instrument during these challenging times. And you can be anywhere and still have a lesson; we have done them at grandma's house and during vacation! Highly recommend!

Nicole was a wonderful online instructor. My daughter (9 y.o.) learned so much - chords, how to read notes, rhythms and songs. Nicole also helped her prepare for a virtual talent show. Nicole went above and beyond what we expected and we have really enjoyed lessons with her.

If you or your child struggles a lot with math, I have BEEN THERE. I hated the way math was taught to me most of my life. It wasn't until I took calculus and started to see the bigger picture of how everything is connected in math that I fell in love. Now, I'm a math minor at my college.

I will help you with your homework very patiently and carefully, and help provide context for how the concepts you are learning are connected, and could lead you down the path of a wonderful career. I am great at working with students with ADHD and autism, and I support LGBTQ+ students.

About Elliot

Hi, I'm Elliot! I wanna help you with your tricky math homework. I'm a sophomore at Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts, majoring in Theater and minoring in Math. I'm hoping to become a professional theater director one day, and I think that tutoring and directing aren't that different from each
