Hello everyone! I'm a holistic vocal coach who wants to get to the heart of what kind of voice you want to take on and help you get there. With me we'll cover everything from basic vocal techniques, to pronunciation, breathing, reaching the really high or low notes, belting, gravel and beyond. (I can even throw in some classical techniques but I'm not all the way there myself so I'm not quite comfortable teaching it generally)
I'm the kind of person who does everything to 100% and for me, singing is nothing short of a performance so in my class, there will be an emotive facet to my "syllabus". I need to believe you're feeling the emotions the song conveys.

I can help you build your voice as a time based artist. I can give you a baseline in understanding contemporary performance artists going back to the 1920s. We can do exercises and experiments in time based art and help you refine and understand how you could develop through this media. Nothing will blow your world open as artist like performance art will! My favorite way to get started is through the Fluxus artists of the 1950s-60s.

I have taught both privately and have also done various workshops at festivals. I have taught guitar multiple years for instance at the Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival in PA.
My students learn to have fun with music. Students can work on rhythms, melodies, improvisation, song writing, getting into and/or hanging on in a jam session, etc.
I have a Masters in Education as well as having spent many years performing, teaching in one on one and group settings both privately and at music camps and festivals. In the painting event, we had a large group (~15 people), so it’s very difficult to coordinate. People had different questions every 5 mins, or people asked the same questions, or you had to wait for other people. Sharon was very patient to answer everyone’s questions. We even went overtime but Sharon was very nice that she continued finishing the painting with us.
All my teammates produced very nice paintings! Majority of them have never painted before, but they created beautiful paintings under Sharon’s guidance. Thank you Sharon!"
