I teach many subjects on takelessons, but I am happy to say I have witnessed truly amazing results from my singing/voice training students. My method is designed for all styles of popular music ranging from r+b to pop to rock to country, and will help voice actors, narrators, public speakers, and all types of performers. I promise you will be happy with the results.

My voice training students learn songs, monologues, scripts they love while learning to embrace the uniqueness of one's own voice. You will learn technique to help your confidence and to keep your voice healthy. I have seen incredible results from my students.

Teaching Style
I believe first and foremost in supporting and developing what musically inspires a student’s decision to study and play music. In order to fully develop control, musicality and understanding of the music language, it is important to focus on several components including music theory (scale and harmonic structure/function and rhythm), style, ear-training, reading and performance skills.

Expectations of Students
Like any aspect of life, consistency and patience are two very important qualities to posses when working towards a goal. The duration of each practice session is proportional to the level of the student. Learning how to practice efficiently with your instrument is key for adherence and success in obtaining your goals.

How to "put it all together", so to speak. I can instruct you on how to choose a guitar amp for your needs, how to use effects, and how to present yourself onstage to be able to perform with your instrument in front of an audience.

About Steve

Music has been a part of my life for over 5 decades. I stepped onstage when I was 15, and have been active in the music business ever since. I was raised in the New York / New England area, and played in many bands in the 70's and 80's, most notably the band AVALON. I moved to Florida in the late 80

Steve is a great instructor. He's knowledgeable and patient. I'm a beginner mandolin player but more experienced at guitar. Steve knows the right approach and progression to my lessons, incorporating the experience I already have. Highly recommend!
Daniel K.
Steve actually researched a style of play that he was unfamiliar with to teach me. Obviously a master musician, he analyzed the basics of the style and started from my baseline, teaching me the technique from the ground up. A dedicated and friendly teacher, I'd recommend him to anyone.

I learned ASL in high school as a second language. My college did not offer ASL classes, therefore, I taught others in my university's ASL club. I mentored students there to teach them vocabulary and engage in basic conversations. Aside from formal lessons, I also find it beneficial for my student's to use ASL to transcribe personal songs of theirs! This is the best way to combine vocabulary and grammar for ASL. I can share my Youtube page where I post my personal transcriptions of ASL songs for students if they want examples or additional practice interpreting.

About Nicole

I am a speech-language pathologist in a pediatric acute care hospital. I graduated with my BS in communication disorders and BS in Psychology in 2016. "I was looking for a teacher who could help me hone in on my songwriting skills, and was so excited when I found Brittany! Not only was she able to help me improve my songwriting, but she helped with my singing in my lessons too! She is definitely the perfect teacher if you are looking to work on both. She also taught me how to use the Nashville Numbers System to chart my songs and be able to communicate well with my band. I take lessons in Brittany's home, which is in a great location and is really nice. I feel very safe there (her complex is gated) and always love going to see her!"

"Dr. Spranza is one of the best piano teachers in the Bay Area. My two daughters take weekly lessons with her. She encourages them and empowers them to do their best. She teaches them both theory and practicals. They have participated in an informal recital and are now registered to take part in the MTAC Certificate of Merit program.

As parents, we see a big improvement in our daughters' piano playing skills. They even practice on their own, without us telling them to. All thanks to Dr. Spranza."

In a group setting, or even individual, he can locate a specific part in the music where people are struggling and can help fix the problem. Andrew is very reliable as he is very willing to meet with you and make you a better trumpet player. Overall, Andrew Giska is a recommended trumpet teacher as he is very good at what he does."
