I want to teach you to draw what YOU want to draw.

Do you want to improve your anatomy? Be able to draw from life? Want to incorporate more movement into your drawings or learn how to get those fiddly details just how you want them? That's what I'm here for. We'll dive right into whatever your current interest (or struggle) is, and go from there.

We can focus on nearly any subject, and through it, we'll also discuss materials, perspective, composition, color, and even how to create art that you can market and sell, if that's what you want!

About Jenna

Hi, I'm Jenna! I have been teaching flute for many years and am so excited to be teaching with TakeLessons! I have a bachelor's degree in flute performance from Florida State University, where I studied with Eva Amsler of the Tallahassee Symphony. I have also completed all coursework for a ma

My daughter took naturally to the flute and my biggest concern has always been whether or not she was being challenged enough. When we first started lessons with Jenna, I asked my daughter how her lessons were going and she said "Jenna's showing me new stuff." It was the first time I started to hear her struggle to make some notes come out. It's been a few years now and I can still hear my daughter having to focus while she practices. I can see her continuing to get better and build skills.

As a parent, I appreciate how Jenna tries to bring diversity and fresh musical influences to her lessons. I like that Jenna incorporates music history and looks for new ways for the kids to work and learn together.

I can provide you with constructive critique as you progress in your work. This also helps motivate students to take a step back and objectively look at where they are now and how far they have come with their work. As a person who is constantly evolving as an artist myself, it is important to bounce ideas off of others to help you improve and get a better understanding on how to develop your own style with your art.

I enjoy the impact art of any kind has on society and others. Art can be used to communicate many things and in many different forms. Also art is subjective and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Not everyone will love your art expression but it is important that you're passionate about your work.

I enjoy learning through interactions with others and the way they perceive their surroundings. My passion for art started when I was very young.

Currently I am the author and illustrator and designer behind a brand of children's products. My background ...

To draw is to be fearless. If you are interested in drawing from life, then I can assist by teaching you the basics or show you how to improve your skill set. I work as a professional artist and have a great deal of knowledge about materials and processes. I enjoy working in ink, pencil (graphite and colored), charcoal, and pastel (oil and soft). I am also into combining media. I have taught for over a decade and my students range in age from children to senior citizens.

About Sandy

I believe in the power of art to change lives. I have been working as a professional artist for several decades and I love what I do. My work ranges from murals to intimate portraiture. My resume includes National Endowment for the Arts funded public art projects, solo exhibitions and museum shows.

"Margie is a phenomenal art instructor and artist – I highly recommend her classes to art learners of all ages! Whether you are interested in improving and practicing new art skills or looking for a fun art activity for your kids or with friends, Margie’s art classes are right for you! Margie gives excellent step-by-step instruction to create a wide variety of art subjects and styles, and can teach any art medium (watercolor paint, colored pencil, acrylic, etc.) in virtual and in-person settings. During lessons, Margie is great at giving individual feedback to each student in both group and individual sessions and encourages her students to explore and express their own creativity while they create – you will have a lot of fun and feel proud of the art you make in Margie’s classes. I took several of Margie’s art lessons with a group of friends (adult age group) and we learned to create a wide variety of subjects (nature, floral, animal, & human subjects) and learned to use several different mediums including watercolor, colored pencil, oil pastels, pencil & marker – I learned something new with every image/medium, love the art we got to create, and had the best time!"
