Jeff brent is an amazing Musician and teacher as well as a man who cares about his students, His systematic approach enables the student to go as far as they want! He worked with my daughter who played violin and piano with Jeff. Eventually she was writing music and was second chair violin at RCC Community College. Her Piano was amazing as well. She also helped other students in high school and college. She loves music like her mentor Mr. Brent. I have also been a student of Jeff fo about 12 years. At first I knew nothing about music except I loved it and I wanted to share music with Itzel. Now, I play Guitar and I am learning how to play saxophone as well. I am also a teacher at RUSD and I use my music to help my children learn how to learn phonics vocabulary story structure and how to write a song. Music in the class really is a game changer and it really inspires my children to learn vocabulary and language skills. Now, I am a gigging musician and I have played in bands coffee houses restaurants and even the streets. I love all of it. Now I am beginning to write songs and I am looking forward to my next chapter in my Musical Journey. Music is a huge part of my life and it fills me with hope and joy everyday of my life. Thank you Mr. Brent, You are a teachers teacher and I am so blessed to have you in my life. Mr. Brent you are one of the best!

Sarah is an excellent flute instructor! Learning online during COVID has been a great experience. Sarah has found ways to make it easy - such scanning her notes to me and sending me recordings after the class. Her lessons are exciting, as I have been working on music I enjoy in addition to music Sarah recommended. I definitely recommend her for online lessons. I look forward to when we can return in person too.

I've always had an interest in music, but never had any formal training. Laurel's tutelage has taken me from an absolute novice who could barely plink out a few notes to being able to read and play along with sheet music. She's employs a very collaborative style of teaching wherein we work together to identify the kinds of music I want to play, and make regularly progress towards reaching my goals. It's been a fantastic experience.

I decided to wait until middle age to begin taking piano lessons so that my brain would be as resistant as possible to learning.

I'm glad I found a teacher as patient, friendly and knowledgable as Laurel. I've been taking lessons with her for almost a year. She tailors the sessions to my spooky interests and encourages me to push my abilities.

When we began I had barely touched a piano in my life. Now I'm able to read sheet music, recognize relative pitches and play a list of my favorite songs with independent hand movement.

I'd recommend Laurel to anyone who wants to learn piano regardless of age or skill level.
Ritu
Laurel has been my kid's piano teacher for a little over four years now. My kids absolutely love her, and I think that is what makes the difference because I want my kids to enjoy taking lessons. Laurel is very knowledgeable and patient. She makes sure students learn both reading music and playing by ear. My kids have come a long way with reading music and playing the piano, and I think a big reason is because of Laurel.

There were so many concepts that I knew a little about, but Adam helped fill in the gaps of knowledge and familiarized me with the concepts so well, that I could teach them myself! He is patient, humorous, and a complete joy to take lessons from."

"I have been taking lessons with Jimmy for 3 years and could not ask for a better teacher. He makes my interest grow and has a wealth of knowledge and the patience to share it. He challenges me regularly. I only wish I had found him sooner as previous instructors never had the flexibility or patience that Jimmy has.
Learning in such a relaxed environment has worked very well for me. My son has since started lessons with Jimmy as well and it has become a great experience for both of us."

"Emily has a strong commitment to making sure her students are learning about music while continuing to enjoy what music can bring to their lives. She not only taught me how to read, listen to, and study music, but she taught me why music is important and how I can live it. Emily teaches with grace and poise. She finds a way to relate to students of any ambition or experience. As a high school student looking to still be involved in music in college, Emily was able to find connections in several cities for me because of her numerous experiences of networking in the music world. She has a broad range of musical talents and has the ability to immediately connect with her students. Emily has not only been a great teacher for me, but a great friend."

Why You Should Learn (At Least a Little) Music Theory
