I graduated from New England Conservatory of Music with a degree in Classical Bassoon Performance and Contemporary Improvisation. I currently play as a freelance player and perform with local experimental ensembles in the Austin, TX area. Bassoon has been a passion and my primary means of expression for as long as I can remember. I want to help students achieve that same sense of accomplishment and direction I felt and continue to feel with the instrument.

I was classically trained for 11 years under bassoonists Mark Goldberg, Richard Svoboda, and Lori Tiberio. My Contemporary Improvisation studies were conducted with renowned improvisors Joe Morris and Anthony Coleman at the New England Conservatory of Music. As a graduate of NEC's Contemporary Improvisation Department, I can help students push the boundaries of their instrument, think outside the box, and utilize techniques not often found in the classical community.

About Joelle

I am a professional bassoonist and I recently moved to Leander, TX from NYC. I graduated from New England Conservatory of Music with a Bachelors of Music, specifically Contemporary Improvisation and Bassoon Performance . With my background in experimental music and free improvisation, students ca

Josh listened to where I was and understood what my goals were. His knowledge and ability to teach is 2nd to none. I live 35 miles from him and went every week. He is worth the drive if your Serious about playing. I would recommend him to anyone who would like to learn from the ground up and be a better all around guitarist..

Josh was both my guitar teacher and sensei in Small Circle Jiu Jitsu for 5+ Years. He is both a talented guitar player and patient mentor. I took lessons for many years, and Josh was excellent at breaking down songs into smaller sections; allowing me to learn challenging songs at a young age. If you are interested in learning how to play guitar, Josh is hands down one of the best instructors around.
Lauryn W
Josh is not only an amazing teacher but also an amazing person. Josh did lessons with my son and daughter and is still teaching my son. My son had never played guitar and now a year later can play well. My daughter has some experience and is autistic and he was able to work with her and teach her more on guitar and on her level. It has been a pleasure having Josh in our lives. Thanks for everything Josh!
