I am well-versed in the study of culture, and I am intimately familiar with foundational anthropological philosophies and ideologies. Ethnomusicology is a study that essentially combines music and anthropology, so this is my principle career focus. I will structure lessons around your goals and the ways in which you learn best. My lessons are meant to be interactive, engaging, and fun! If anthropology is not a subject you are fond of, I will work with you to make it interesting based on things you are passionate about. Drawing is a fundamental art skill and is the building block for all art mediums. Anyone can draw, but it takes an artist to stick with it for the long haul. You can turn any line or shape into a drawing, but specific artist techniques, tips and tricks will take your artwork to the next level.

I've been an artist all my life and one of my favorite things to do is draw. I use both traditional materials like pencil, graphite, charcoal and more to create art on sketch or tracing paper, illustration board and more, but I also use Illustrator to create digital drawings. I've have drawn several logos and images on paper first, and then turned them into digital artwork for paying clients.

Ruben is a great instructor and very flexible. He tailors his lesson strategy to the student's goals and creates a supportive environment. His focus is on building a solid understanding of music structures first and then applying to the guitar.

There was some confusion with the 'take lessons' website in that it scheduled my lesson for CST when both I and Ruben are in PST. I didn't spot it until 'day of' and Ruben was gracious and flexible in still being able to do the lesson at the later time. Not his fault and I appreciate his willingness to adjust his schedule once the issue was realized.
