I was impressed with the one on one lessons. I got those lessons from Patrick after I took a group class with him. I learned a lot in that short lesson. A one on one was even better. He used Zoom to make the chord charts and everything available to me. I learned new major and minor chords in the first lesson. He understood my goals and was able to adapt to them and plan future lessons in an efficient way. I recommend lessons from him.

Chris is great to work with. He's patient and very knowledgeable. I like that he focuses on music theory as well as playing. His approach to teaching makes for a well-rounded learning experience. I feel more confident learning songs on my own and understanding the structure behind them.

Chris is an excellent guitar instructor. After picking up the guitar after a 40 year hiatus, he has quickly got me going again. Chris has been really good at customizing instruction to meet individual needs. For me, I wanted to get beyond just strumming chords. After just a few lessons, I feel we are well on our way to meeting that objective.

"Leaving a second review for William to tell players out there how awesome he is. Having worked with William for over a year, I can tell you his teaching style and ability to communicate are superior to that of other teachers. Moreover, William helped me develop a strong technical foundation for playing—and after 16 years of guitar playing with other teachers, I was surprised how far those little changes can go (i.e., how you hold the pick, where to put your thumb on the neck, the sequential order to playing notes on a chord, etc.) While that may sound basic, believe me, it's not. I almost had to relearn how to play. Overall, I highly recommend William if you're looking to crush your guitar playing goals."

"Ryan was great! He's obviously a talented guitarist and he is very laid back and makes you feel comfortable. He shows you in detail what you need to do to become a better guitar player. My ONLY advice, and the reason he doesn't get 5 stars, is I think he should have more visual aids with his lessons. For example, write down the different scales or transcribe the first several measures of a song. Then, one has something to refer back to when you are practicing and invariably get stuck. Other than that, I would highly recommend Ryan as a guitar teacher!"

Tricks For Differentiating The Two Blues Chord Progressions

Ready to get started with learning blues chord progressions? Here's an intro by Austin, TX guitar teacher Samuel B...   In order to properly respect and understand both the theory and structure of ANY kind of American music, it's essential to be able to play the blues. Although the form is said (by some scholars) to have originated in Africa within the story-telling traditions of village griots (historians/poets/musicians who would play a five-stringed instrument known as the halam, which …

5 Blues Guitar Secrets That Will Make You a Better Player

Learning how to play blues guitar? Pay extra attention to these five things from guitar teacher Mike B.... 1. In Tune Bends The blues guitar style is full of bending strings. Bends, as well as hammer-ons, pull-offs and slides, give guitarists the ability to imitate the way singers use various inflections while singing melodies. However, unlike hammers-ons and slides, bends are not guaranteed to be in tune. Since there is nothing worse than an out-of-tune bend in the climax of a great solo …

As an instructor (and blues guitar afficionado), I'm keen on you developing a working knowledge of the blues.
