Mastering fundamentals is extremely important when learning a language. This is especially true for Cantonese Chinese. I'll first practice the basic sounds and tones. Then we'll learn practical travel Cantonese--practicing simple conversations. Once you get your footing, we'll expand your vocabulary and understanding of grammar.
I am a graduate of UC San Diego (bachelor of arts, sociology) and UCLA (master of public policy). As a child of immigrant parents, I value diversity and love learning languages. When it comes to violin I use both book and audio. I want to help my students learn to not only read the music but to also hear and feel it. I have been teaching this way for the last few years and found that my students have a deeper understanding of the music by learning the see with their ears. Each student is tasked with coming up with goals that they want to reach, goals their parents would like for them to reach and from there a personalized path for learning is created and followed.
I picked up music when I was very young and have never looked back. I started with the piano and then moved on to the violin, of which I competed regularly in up until high school. In high school I switched the viola and found it to me even more amazing. During high school I competed again in music

Lessons are structured according to the level and age of the student. I believe that teacher's approach must be flexible and according to the student's need, their personal goals and development.
Apart from introduction and building of pianistical skills and musical understanding - theory and ear training, sight reading, I also try to introduce repertoire from different epoques and genres which helps student broaden their knowledge.
I have been teaching piano and theory since year 2000. Apart from teaching privately, I served in music elementary, middle and high schools in Belgrade. Residing in Miami from June 2015, I served in Miami Fine Arts Academy, Music Works and Allegro. Bachelor Degree in Piano from Belgrade Universit

I have always been an actor first, it is the craft and discipline in which I hold my advanced degrees; it is my first and eternal love. There really isn't much more one could add to such a claim. Simultaneously I have believed a teacher is born, not bred; and I was born to be in theatre, and now, wi
Second of all, when we did our first session, I had to deal with a rough technical patch of trying g to join in for the session. He had no problem helping me with this technical glitch rather than allowing TakeLessons (who I was unable to reach because of matainace issues), to handle it. He helped 5he TakeLessons team. A plus Randy! Though I had to finally use another device to finally join the session, Randy was still willing to have patience and help me with the tech problem.
Lastly, Randy brought a warm feeling to the session and yet sincere. He made me feel welcomed, which opened me up more during this session. This helped because I am uncomfortable with improv but want to get better. He understood this and gave a real honest approach. Also, he informed me that we were going to get a gist of my performance level and work from there. Furthermore, we were going to ease our way into improvement. This gave me alot more balance than other improv classes. He is even willing to give me a little homework that I can practice in prep for next week.
Randy is very encouraging and I enjoyed our first session. I'm exited for next week!

My ultimate "dream come true" would be to have the opportunity to be part of a comedic writer's group. Imagine being part of Sid Caesar's writing sessions with Woody Allen, Mel Brooks, Neil Simon, Carl Reiner et al! How I would have loved to be part of that community!
Now I live in an "active retirement community". None of those comedy dreams have come to pass.
One night (after watching a marathon portion of The Kaminsky Method on Netflix) I felt ready to explore my own creative potential for the theater community. I found "Take Lessons" online, and saw that Jeremy had devoted years accumulating both academic and practical experience in the world of performing arts.
My own private hope was that if I could somehow connect the art with the craft, and thereby discover ways to both overcome what blocked me and at the same time have fun, then I might open the possibility of unlocking a medium of expression for my own imagination, and thereby find some means of participating with other kindred spirits in theatrical projects.
Jeremy agreed to meet me where I was at. He was willing to custom tailor his lessons to my own idiosyncratic needs. We agreed to one class a week with a ten week commitment. After every one hour class I have a whole week to process what we have opened up in the previous session.
After my third lesson I find that Jeremy's flexibility and personal attention has provided me with the freedom to participate in structuring my own advanced learning experience. I have already, with just two private lessons, produced two short scripts by transcribing our recorded online improvisations. I don't know yet how others will respond to these skits. I think they are both funny.
Perhaps one of the amateur theater groups here in the retirement community will be interested in producing my skits as a montage. Then I can observe how my words come across to an audience. Believe me when I say I appreciate how rare and valuable such an experience is. As any mature artist will tell you, our culture is sorely lacking in places to try things out, especially when your creations are likely to bomb.
Honestly, I don't know anywhere else I could have found such a unique opportunity. Jeremy is knowledgeable, understanding and supportive. I highly recommend him as a teacher for any kind of performing art."
She is amazing and knowledgeable."
Highly recommend working with her!"

Professional actors often can’t help but feel a little powerless when it comes to the process of auditioning and booking jobs. Sure, from the outside people think that actors have some say in creative aspects, but your input and personal preferences are really quite insignificant in the process (well, not until you're on a Brangelina level at least). So while you're on your way to superstardom, it's smart to leverage the opportunities at hand. The first area you have control of as an actor is …
