I am a professional artist who has exhibited my artwork around the world! My artwork is in private and corporate collections globally - I even have an artwork in a museum in Hungary! I have studied with the Master’s of the day, including Daniel Greene, Richard Schmidt and Myron Barnstone — who did a show with Picasso in Paris after World War II! He was my mentor, and showed me many crucial techniques to perfect your art.

I love training new and aspiring artists in these classical techniques so that you have all the tools you need in your craft to become the best artist you can be! My courses are structured to challenge you to growth, and there is thoughtful feedback for each lesson to accommodate all levels and skill sets that take my courses.

Above all — you should find great enjoyment and fun in learning — and I love to make my classes both rewarding and fun!

I graduated from the Harvard Graduate School of Education in June 2007 with a Master in Education (Arts in Education) degree. During my studies I worked in the framework of the Artful Adventures Program (Museum of Fine Arts in Boston), which provides object - based learning and hands on artistic experiences for elementary and middle school kids. My own research was about “Creative Insight in Practice" and "Acquiring English as a Second Language and Developing Self-Esteem through the Idiom of Art". I have more than a two decades-long experience in painting, drawing, printmaking and installation work.

Kerstin has been a great tutor for our son. Not only does he enjoy working with Kerstin, but his German skills have noticeably improved (along with his grades). Kerstin is a great communicator, always on-time, never cancelled and very easy to work with. I would highly recommend Kerstin.

Kerstin is a fantastic teacher. She connected right away with my daughter Chloe who is 8 years old and immediately engaged and had her learning German after 1 lesson. She is punctual and professional. I highly recommend her.

There are so many reasons to learn to draw. Perhaps you are applying for college and want to strengthen your portfolio? Maybe you changing careers and need to strengthen your visual thinking? Or you may just want to learn to draw for fun. Whatever your reason is, I can help. I have been teaching drawing for 20 years and I’ve worked with students of all ages, from young adults to retirees. There seems to be a notion out there that “one must have a talent for art before they can learn to draw. ” One thing I can say for sure is that this absolutely NOT true. With the right knowledge, a strong desire to learn, and a willingness to try, anyone can learn to draw.

I teach students how to draw from a classical studies background, but I believe in nurturing the uniqueness of each student and honoring their learning style. Unlike a classroom setting, a private lesson frees us up to build the lessons specifically around the student's goals and needs.

About Sharon

I teach adults to draw. My passion really lies in teaching adults to draw.  With such a large generation of people heading toward retirement, I want to offer drawing lessons to give baby boomers some new goals to give them purpose and to enhance their post-career stage of life.  Drawing has many

Self expression through art is an amazing experience. It's personal on all levels.

The most fabulous thing about being an artist is that boundaries regarding creativity are non-existent. The artist is always in a state of learning. Art is a progressive practice that takes time to develop. The students main objective is to learn, by drawing what the individual wishes to draw (personal projects that sparks and continues the creativity within).

Materials are not included.
Materials needed are pencil, paper and a willingness to explore.

Drawing lessons will be assessed based on the individual's current abilities and their goals.
Ages 9+

Note:
For virtual sessions, the student will need to create a conducive workspace that will allow teacher/student viewing of art work in progress. The student will need a workspace with lots of light. Often, I will ask to see the students progress, so that I may be able critique and give advise on their work in progress.

For short-term sessions ...

About Melanie

I take great joy in bringing art to the surface that the student didn't even know they had within them! Creating art is mainly about confidence, and I build that with each person, one on one. As they gain confidence, the techniques needed to create meaningful and engaging art come more easily. I ha
