Like many people in my age group (60+) I took lessons as a child and gave them up to career, kids, etc, and now I have the time to play again! Colin is great to work with, he was good at gauging where I am in my piano journey and listening carefully to tailor his lessons to my needs. He gives me as much theory as I can handle or want and is really good and patient when I don't understand. I give him top marks as a teacher!
Oscar
Colin is a great teacher. I learned to play guitar in middle and high school and hadn't taken a lesson in over 30 years. When I realized I wanted to try lessons again, I found Colin.

He's fun to connect with, relaxed and friendly. He's focused on my goals (learning campfire favorites, classical pieces, finger style, and jazz). And he gives great feedback and constructive tips to keep improving.

Highly recommend!
Julia
Colin has been awesome. Our son is taking lessons for 1.5 years now, mostly online. That's hard enough itself, but Colin managed to teach him amazing songs on the guitar. He is very skilled in all sorts of instruments and has an unique sense of humor and discipline to connect to his students. If you're looking for a great teacher, he's your man.

First and formost I love creating music. Whether that is playing, writing, or teaching. Making music is basically all I have done for the past 20+yrs. I play and perform on multiple instruments so that gives me an insight into how different instruments interact with one another either in a band situation or songwriting/arranging. My main goal as a teacher is to get you playing and making music as soon as possible. I want you to enjoy learning music by playing your favorite songs and really be excited about the whole process. Through learning songs the lessons and supplemental materials can become very personalized to the students' interests.
I throughly love sharing my knowledge and experience with my students. Knowing the joy music brings to my life fills me with the passion to pass it along to my students. Every student gets their own Google Classroom where the lesson materials and communications can happen quickly and directly. I record each lesson and provide the replay of ...

Jamie Rocks! Jamie taught our daughter to play guitar, first at the Rock House in person and then remotely during quarantine. He is such an amazing musician and his talent and passion for playing shine through during his lessons. He makes the guitar approachable and fun, never a chore. Our son is a drummer and both kids have played in bands that Jamie helped coach, and even pinched in with lead vocals when the band was short a singer. Jamie is an absolute pleasure to work with and we would recommend him to anyone who aspires to learn the guitar.
Abby
Jamie is a terrific teacher. He is clearly passionate about music, and this really comes through in his lessons. My kids took lessons from him for many years and found him to be patient, easy-going, and knowledgeable. He is also an extremely talented musician. I highly recommend him as a teacher for kids just getting started in music, as well as for more advanced students.
Owen
Jamie is an excellent teacher who is very well versed in all types of music be it jazz, blues, rock or country. He has a great knowledge of music theory and challenges me to think deeper about guitar during my lesson. He is also skilled at teaching the basics and knows the best material to practice. He is greatly enthusiastic about guitar and is a very relatable person as well. My guitar and music skills have greatly improved with Jamie, and I look forward to our lesson every week.

I have been teaching since 2008 and have a BA in Music. Classical Guitar is my specialty. I have been studying and teaching it for many years. My students have learned pieces like Recaurdos de Alahambra and Leyenda (Austarias). I have played many recitals solo and as a duet with a flute. Classical guitar takes many years of practice, patient, and dedication. It is my belief, however, that classical is one best forms of training out there.

About Andrei

Teaching music is one of my passions. I value each student and the time I have with them; helping them to explore the world of music. After each lesson, my students walk away with a deeper understanding of music and have enjoyed their time. Music is a lifelong skill that can always be practiced and

Hi! I've been playing guitar and with bands for over 15 years. I started on upright bass and played in an orchestra before moving onto jazz band, and then eventually taught myself guitar. The last band I was in toured and recorded all over the country before moving to Seattle. Songwriting is my greatest passion. If you have any interest in writing your own songs, I'd be more than happy to help. I'm comfortable with multiple genres and with electric or acoustic guitar. We can come up with a lesson plan together, or I can plan something myself based on your needs. Thank you!
