Certified teacher for Japanese (EC-12), Mandarin(EC-12) and Art(EC-12). I grew up speaking Japanese, Mandarin and Taiwanese, so I have no problem mixing them up to meet your need. Many years of freelance tutoring experience for Japanese and Mandarin have helped me teaching all levels of Japanese including Pre-AP and AP classes at my former employment of 9 years at a public high school. While I appreciate having a structured learning environment at a school setting, I miss the free-style teaching that suits the needs of each student. Desires to learn come strongest when one is genuinely interested in something, and rarely do those desires come from wanting to learn from a textbook . I hope you will have fun and enjoy my classes.

If you are interested in learning Japanese using a textbook and a workbook, please let me know! Each student are required to have their own copy of the textbook for these classes.

Talented teachers are rare. Like a great coach i sports... the coach doesn’t need to be the top athlete in his field to know how to teach each team member to hone their best abilities, he just has to know and see how to teach you how to get there. Being an outstanding teacher is a great talent all in itself... and that is Jesse. He has that quality and ability to lead, focus and take you where you want to go.

Jesse has given directions on how to successfully become a better musician. His approach and explanation on musical theories was much more understandable than what I was previously reading. Overall, I found the lessons to be very usefull.

I am a native speaker and former school teacher in Japan. Learning is fun-that's my motto. When you achieve your goals, you enjoy a feeling of accomplishment, right? I want to help you to achieve your goals. My lesson starts from finding what students really need to learn. Understanding student is the key to success. I am very strong in teaching proper Japanese, including reading and writing Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji with fun way. Also, casual, informal, practical Japanese too.

I had been studying Japanese by myself for two years before booking a lesson with Jinko.
Even after one lesson I learned so many new things and received many helpful and useful tips. She helped me practice my pronunciation and went over some reading exercises with me as well. I would recommend taking lessons with her, she is patient and kind.

こんにちわ、先生。

I will try to make this short because there is so many good things to say about Jinko Sensei.

To start, I have had an interest in Japanese since I was little, stemming from anime and being Asian myself, I really wanted to actually commit to truly learning the language and becoming fluent.

Since I began, I have improved so much. My biggest problem was reading, but also not being afraid to just speak in Japanese, and slowly I have become more comfortable, and have broken my stigma of trying to speak in Japanese (just don't be afraid of making a mistake).

The best thing is that Jinko Sensei teaches what is practical. She is a very personable, great and amazing person! What more could you ask for from a teacher if you are really trying to learn Japanese. I cannot recommend her enough.

Anyways, I have enjoyed and continue to enjoy our classes together! If you need help reaching your Japanese goals, this is the teacher for you!

Do you want to understand your favorite anime show, movies or Japanese culture better? Do you want to learn to crack jokes in Japanese and win any crowd over? Would you like to do business in Japan and need someone who can not only teach you the language, but cultural differences and etiquette so you can win over any client?

Japanese and English are polar opposites in many ways.
Sentence structures are upside down. English is written horizontally left to right, but traditional Japanese is written vertically right to left.
Communicating can be difficult when what can be spoken directly in English has to be said in more subtle ways in Japanese, and this miscommunication can cause relationships to break down.

My passion is to help people cross cultural barriers and make new friends.
Learning a new language can build confidence and expand your mind in ways you never thought possible!

One of the signs that you have truly mastered a language is to understand the humor. I can ...

Really bad experience. I came to learn Japanese seriously while the teacher just spent the first 10min trying to talk about himself and asking me personal questions. When I asked him what his plan is for the class, he threatened me I can change another teacher and he does not want to teach. Pretty condescending attitude it seems to me.

Learn Japanese Through Music: 7 Fun Songs to Sing at Karaoke

Karaoke is a fun activity in any language, but believe it or not, singing karaoke is also a great way to improve your Japanese-language skills. Karaoke, as we know it, actually started in Kobe City, Japan. The word 'karaoke' is a combination of the words kara (from karappo, which means 'empty') and oke (from okesutura, which means 'orchestra'). You may not have realized that you can learn Japanese through music, but karaoke is one of the best ways to practice vocabulary and …
