I can teach finger picking, sight reading, songs, and reading tab. Acoustic guitar is a wonderful way to start learning to play the guitar because you learn how to make the sounds naturally with the instrument.

Teresa specializes in working with musicians of all ages and stages who know the styles of music they want to explore and master. One of her passions as a teacher is to prepare students to pursue their musical interests armed with the "building blocks" of music: knowledge of functional music theory and how to use it.

About Teresa

A musician since age 4, Teresa's dad took her early passion for music seriously. So she respects the power that parents have to foster their children's musical lives! She notes the many stories she has heard over the years: "If someone had just supported my interest"... "If my teacher had listened t

I was looking for an instructor who could help me with a refresher on my piano skills from when I was much younger and Teresa was the perfect find. She walked me through an accelerated piano book and has been more than flexible with my hectic and unpredictable work schedule. Would recommend Teresa to any new or returning piano/keyboard players

A few spectacular things about Terese and music:

1. She's good on Zoom, not all teachers are. Very personable!
2. She's fun and practical. I am teaching music to children and teenagers. She knows all the tricks with these age groups, passes them on and makes it easy.
3. She's deeply rooted in music, and respects and appreciates all kinds of music.
4. Teresa is a pragmatist and realist. She helps the student exactly where his/her need is greatest. She uses our time together well.
5. She shares delightful music sheets by email. For an upcoming Halloween-themed class I'm teaching, she sent me some "scary" ghosts songs that fit the bill perfectly.

"I needed to prepare for a college statistics course and was pretty nervous because I have been out of school for quite some time. I was incredibly fortunate to find Colin as a math/statistics tutor. Besides being highly knowledgable, Colin is quite keen on how to explain topics in a way that fits how I learn. Not to mention, he is very good at plugging in short mini-lessons on algebra and basic math to refresh my memory on some of this stuff. Overall, Colin is patient, friendly and an amazing teacher. Highly recommend!"

"Nick is a wonderful teacher, he is knowledgeable and perceptive. I first came to Nick for help on my essay for my college application. He was able to help me narrow down the options of topics to write about so that I could confidently write about a topic I am passionate about. He continued to help me outline and structure the paper so that it would be organized and academically acceptable, and finally, he helped with editing so that the final copy was ready. A few months later I received my letter of acceptance.
After helping with my college application essay, Nick continued tutoring me through my semester at Community College. he taught me how to do a close reading, to arrange paragraphs, and to better phrase my ideas. He offered new ways to strengthen my writing. Nick is so patient and full of encouragement, I could not have made it through the semester without him."

She also helped me to "warm up" with my Statistics, providing pleasant and interesting conversations. I consider that my objective has been achieved. Akib is truly committed to her work.
