As an experienced vocalist and teacher for over 20 years, I love to blend basic technical principles of singing with learning to read music and feeling confident and comfortable in your own unique sound. The process of finding your voice, regardless of genre, is so much fun and is the best part of teaching for me! We both learn along the way, and it can be a joyful experience! Singing is one of the most vulnerable modes of musical expression, and I respect that as your teacher above all. My job is to give you everything I can from my toolbox, so you can be confident in yourself even when I'm not there to guide you. I have taught all ages from elementary aged children, all the way up to adults, most of whom were beginners. My studio is a safe space for self-expression and self-discovery, so shoot me a message and let's get started!

About Taylor

Music is what I live and breathe. I'm obviously a classical buff, but I actually do a fair amount of rock and metal styles as well! I am all about freedom of self-expression, and will always be a safe and open minded mentor who checks their ego at the door. Truth be told, I am a bit of dramatics a

Some people might fare better with this instructor. More chatting than instructing. Usually telling stories trying to sell himself and talk about how great he is. Delusional ideas about your relationship. Accusatory. Takes things personally. Burns bridges. Claims to be a vocal therapist but doesn't do any vocal therapy. Can provide bad advice and medical information.

This was my first piano lesson in 50 years. It was everything I hoped it would be... intellectual, fun, relaxed... and it filled me with hope that I could finally make something out of a musical instrument I left in the dust so many years ago. Jimi is wonderful to talk with and work with. This was beyond my expectations.

I’m 80 years old and play sax in a Senior band. I signed up for several lessons with Jimi Z. to improve my tone and breathing. I think Jimi did a great job with me, and I recommend Jimi for sax lessons. Dan Ginsberg

Super helpful first lesson!
Ali
I know more about the guitar than I ever thought I would, thanks to a Patrick. He is so patient with me and knows exactly how to teach me so that I remember and understand. I originally started taking lessons to be able to play a few songs around a campfire and now I can play whatever song I want because he really taught me to read music and know chords. I’ve been taking lessons for less than 6 months and I am farther along than I even thought possible. I would recommend Patrick to anyone and everyone wanting to learn guitar. He is incredible and such a great teacher!!!!!!
Heidi
Patrick is extremely knowledgable which makes learning from him really fun and engaging. He not only teaches you how to play, but teaches you the why behind every chord and how it relates to other things you've already learned. He's patient, fun to learn from and will help you reach your goals. I can guarantee there is no other teacher out there who knows more about this instrument — he's definitely worth the investment!

Mark has been very flexible in scheduling and very patient in explaining theory. As an adult new to violin I think he has been great in terms of explaining new concepts and being incredibly encouraging. He is also patient and realistic in his expectations of students. Greatly recommend.

I came to Mark with utterly no background in the violin, wanting to start as an adult learner, and I can't imagine a better teacher than Mark. Mark is helping me gain crucial fundamentals while also learning fun pieces to strengthen those elements and encouraging me to select pieces, too.
I also like that he incorporates some music theory into his lessons.
Finally, I feel like becoming a violinist now, as an adult, isn't as crazy as I worried it might be since I have Mark to teach me.
